Usually, I don’t like to talk about technique, because I think it ruins the magic. The magic is also in the viewer’s mind: he/she contributes building the story. So when you start throwing technical terms, it stops the story. The reason I’d like to talk about technique this time is because this photo is not digital, it’s film, which I mainly do. Here, I think this photo is a direct reference to my new drawing project called ‘The Pictures I Didn’t Take' (click). Because I usually don't take this kind of still life. But since I started the drawing project, I focus my eye on things I actually wouldn't take. And now there is a back and forth movement between the pen and the camera, one is feeding the other…
